1. Overview
2xurl turns long URLs into short, branded links you can share anywhere, then shows you who clicked, where from and on what device. Everything lives in a workspace: its links, domains, QR codes, analytics, members and wallet.
2. Short Links
- Paste a destination URL and 2xurl gives you a short link such as 2xurl.com/abc123.
- Pick your own back-half (the part after the slash) or let 2xurl generate one. Back-halves are first come, first served.
- You can change a link’s destination later — the short link stays the same, so printed links keep working.
- Every change is kept in the link’s history. Archive links you no longer need, or duplicate one to start from it.
- Import links in bulk from CSV and export them back out at any time.
3. Link Options
- Password. Visitors must enter a password before they are redirected.
- Schedule. Set when a link starts working and when it expires, with a fallback URL to send people to afterwards.
- Click limit. Stop redirecting after a set number of clicks.
- UTM parameters. Add source, medium, campaign, term and content tags to the destination automatically.
- Redirect type. Choose the HTTP status used for the redirect.
- Rules. Send visitors to different destinations based on rules you set on the link.
- Safety checks. Destinations are checked against Google Safe Browsing; unsafe links are refused or disabled.
4. Custom Domains
- Coming soon. Custom domains are paused while we finish and test them. Links use 2xurl.com for now.
- Once available, you will be able to use your own domain (for example go.yourbrand.com) instead of 2xurl.com.
- Add the domain in your workspace, create the DNS record we show you, then press Verify.
- HTTPS certificates are issued automatically once the domain is verified.
- Set one domain as the default so new links use it without you choosing each time.
5. QR Codes
- Every short link can have a QR code. Scans are counted in the link’s analytics like any click.
- Style it with your colours and logo, preview it, and download it for print or screen.
- Because the QR code points at the short link, you can change where it goes without reprinting it.
- Generate QR codes for many links at once with bulk QR.
6. Link Analytics
- See total and unique clicks over time for a link, a campaign or the whole workspace.
- Break clicks down by country, device, browser, operating system, referrer, UTM tags and source.
- View top links and top campaigns, and a live stream of recent click events.
- Pick a date range and time zone, and export the data as CSV.
- Bot traffic is filtered out of the numbers by default.
7. Website Analytics
- Add your website under Websites in the dashboard and paste one script tag into your pages, or use the WordPress, Shopify and Next.js instructions on the Install tab.
- See page views, unique visitors, sessions, bounce rate and duration, with top pages, traffic sources and UTM campaigns, devices, browsers and countries.
- The Live view shows visitors active in the last five minutes and page views as they arrive.
- Track custom actions with
twoxurl('event', 'signup'); outbound clicks and scroll depth are recorded automatically. - Counter widgets show live visitors, today's visitors or page views, or all-time page views on your own site.
- Session replay is optional and sampled per site. Form inputs are always masked, and you can mask or block any element.
- Choose a consent mode, respect Do Not Track, and set how long analytics data (90 days by default) and recordings (30 days by default) are kept.
8. Folders, Tags & Campaigns
- Folders group links the way you would group files.
- Tags label links across folders so you can filter by them.
- Campaigns collect the links for one launch or promotion, with analytics for the campaign as a whole.
9. Workspaces & Roles
- Invite teammates to a workspace by email. Each member has a role: viewers can see, editors can create and change links, admins and owners also manage members, domains and billing.
- You can belong to several workspaces — for example one per brand or client — and switch between them.
- API keys belong to a workspace and act with the role of the member who created them.
10. Billing & Wallet
- Every account gets a free monthly allowance. Usage beyond it is paid from a prepaid wallet.
- Top up through Razorpay, Cashfree or PayPal. India is billed in INR, elsewhere in USD.
- If your wallet runs out, existing links keep redirecting. Only new billable actions pause until you top up.
The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
11. For Developers
Everything in the dashboard is available over a REST API at https://2xurl.com/api/v1, authenticated with workspace API keys. Webhooks tell your systems when links and domains change.
Start with the API Reference or the first API call guide.
